Local Manufacturing Celebration Features Cobots, Robots, and NASCAR
St. Louis collaborative and autonomous mobile robot distributor HTE Technologies turns 60
ST. LOUIS, MO, September 12, 2019 – This year HTE Technologies celebrates 60 years as a leading provider of manufacturing solutions in Missouri, Illinois, and Kansas. The company evolved from distributing rubber goods and assembly tools in 1959, into a multi-business unit ‘Industry 4.0’ solutions provider.
President Kim Shearburn reflects on the changes he’s seen during his 41 years at the company, “In 60 years we’ve gone from “House of Tools” distributing rubber products and tools, to “HTE Technologies” delivering tool-carrying collaborative robots riding on autonomous mobile robots! It’s been a wild journey, and we aren’t slowing down.”
HTE’s Robotics Lab, Machine Vision Lab, and Dynamic Autonomous Robot Showroom will be at the center of the 60th Anniversary celebration on September 12th. HTE will have 20, mostly collaborative robots, “rubbing shoulders” with guests while performing industry’s dullest tasks. The impact these new technologies have on the critical skills shortage, and lean manufacturing practices, is why local MEP firms, Missouri Enterprise and IMEC will also be present.
In HTE’s training facilities, local skilled factory workers are trained in just two days to program “cobots” to perform the most boring work. HTE Technologies is one of the first U.S. Authorized Training Centers for Universal Robots, the world’s collaborative robot leader.
At the anniversary celebration, HTE’s compressor team, together with Ameren Missouri and Ameren Illinois, will feature a live view into remote equipment monitoring, a standard feature from the world’s leading energy saving compressor manufacturer, Atlas Copco. HTE Technologies is a Registered Program Ally of Ameren ActOnEnergy, an energy reduction incentive program.
Entertainment at the anniversary event will include the legendary Stewart-Haas #41 car (a previous winner of the Daytona 500 with Kurt Busch) compliments of corporate sponsor Atlas Copco. Guests are welcome to have their picture taken with the car. Additionally, one of the local FRC FIRST Robotics teams HTE sponsors, the Ravens from Francis Howell School District, will be on hand to challenge guests to a game of “Destination Space.”
